Whirlwind Tour
Tim and Rachel enjoyed a jam-packed 9 days exploring Melbourne. Following the Great Ocean Road trip they spent the week touring the CBD and hitting many of the highlights around Melbourne. In the city they wandered through the aquarium, the State Library of Victoria, and the Melbourne Museum; they took in views of the city from the The Edge of Eureka Tower; and they played their way through the history of video games at the Australian Centre for the Moving Image. They went to see the penguins down at Phillip Island, and they were able to spend a couple of days with one of Rachel's colleagues who showed them around her home and practice, treated them to an official Aussie BBQ, and took them to the Healesville Sanctuary. We were able to join them for a fabulous Colonial Tramcar dinner, a day in the Dandenongs and Yarra Valley, exploring Lygon Street, and some serious beach volleyball. And have we mentioned the food? One of the best things about Melbourne is the great quality and vast selection of restaurants and cusines - so while they were here Tim and Rae tried Vietnamese, Mediterranean, Thai, Greek, Japanese, Italian, and of course many things Australian!
We had a blast as the time flew by and, although we were sad to take them to the airport, we are thankful for the time we were able to share!
